JOHNSON CITY,
The ETSU Skills Camp for ages 5-8 will be held from June 4 to June 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. An Elite Skills Camp has been added this year for girls age 9-19. It will also be held from June 4 to June 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. These camps will focus on the basic skills of soccer, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, heading and receiving. The campers will enjoy small-group training and small-sided fun games to put their skills into action.
The Goal Keeper Camp for boys and girls ages 9-18 will also be held from June 4- June 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The camp is designed to build the basic skills of goal keeping in a fun, competitive, and creative atmosphere.
"We are very excited to host our third annual Champions of Tomorrow Soccer Camp. We feel that the youth players who have participated in the past have walked away with a better grasp for the skills of the game," said Henson. "This year we decided to expand our camp to the older soccer players in the area. We have created an Elite section to the camp. This part of the camp will be for girls ages 9-18 and will training for a full day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We have also expanded our goalkeeper section from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for boys and girls. We feel this change in the camp format will give the campers the ability to learn all modes of the game more in detail."
"We hope to have many of our area soccer players will take advantage of this opportunity to train with both of the ETSU soccer head coaches and the assistant coach, who is specialized in training keepers, along with the ETSU women's soccer players."
The Heather Henson Champions of Tomorrow Soccer Camp is committed to helping players develop their skills while creating the most competitive and enjoyable soccer atmosphere possible.
