ETSU women's soccer earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (February 1, 2007) - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced East Tennessee State women's soccer program as a NSCAA team Academic Award winner. The soccer team coached by Heather Henson posted a 3.11 average GPA for the 2006 school year to earn the honors.

 

"I am very proud of our ladies and their hard work in the classroom.  The soccer program has made a true commitment to being student-athletes and representing ETSU at a level of excellence.  The ladies have a true pride of being a student and an athlete at East Tennessee State University," said coach Henson.

 

A total of 316 intercollegiate soccer programs (81 men, 235 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2006 school year.
