DeLAND, Fla. (September 24, 2006) - Injuries continue to plague the Bucs as the ETSU women's soccer team fell to the Stetson Hatters in a grueling 2-0 decision at the Stetson Soccer Field. The Bucs fall to
In the first half, both teams fought intensely for the lead, but it was Stetson who found the back of the net as Julianne Turnball's corner kick was headed by Kelsey Kramer to Bethany Kiedis for the score.
The Buccaneer defense then tightened its hold, making three saves and was able to go into half time trailing 1-0.
In the second, ETSU continued to fight, but the Hatters scored one more time as Turnball's corner kick was headed into the crossbar by Kramer. Noelle Tyre then netted her first goal of the season on the rebound.
"When we possessed the ball we did a very good job. We didn't take enough shots in the final third and we didn't win the second chances on the balls in the air. Those are the two areas of the game that really cost us," said head coach Heather Henson. "
