JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 9, 2009) - The ETSU women's soccer team and head coach Heather Henson announced Monday, that four talented young ladies have pledged their commitments to join the Bucs squad next fall. The newest additions to the ETSU family include forwards Tori Head (
"We are very excited about these four young ladies that make up our 2009 women's soccer recruiting class. The class is very athletic, it has some players with pace, and young ladies with quality skill sets and each of them are committed to making our program better," said Henson. "The class also possesses all of the qualities off of the field that we feel are important. Each of these ladies will play an important role in the future success of ETSU Women's Soccer, and they are players that will make the ETSU family proud. We are very excited to have them in Blue and Gold this fall."
Below is a look at the 2009 recruiting class
Tori Head (
Morgan Thomas (Maryville, Tenn.) - Was a basketball star at Heritage High School… played club soccer for head coach Paulo Neto and the 91' Premier Nike Impact USA, in addition to being on the Olympic Development Program under coaches Curtis Blair and Hans Hobson and Tori Beeler Watson… led the impact to the 2008 Redbout Generals Invitational title and a second place finish at the 2008 Tennessee State Cup… also led the Nike squad to a quarterfinal birth at the 2006 Orange Classic… on the hardwood was named to the 2008 Region 2 District 4 3AAA All-Tournament team, earning All-Blount County honors and the team's Hustle award… led HHS to a 27-6 record and a 2008 District 4-AAA Championship, after leading the Lady Mountaineers to a 27-7 record and 2007 Super 16 Championship… off the field Thomas is a great student earning a 3.92 GPA, volunteering for both the Special Olympics and local AAU teams…also won the prestigious 2005 and 2007 Student of Distinction Award… daughter of Scott and Deborah Thomas… currently her major is undecided.
Charlotte Summerall (St. Augustine, Fla.) - Was a four-year letterwinner and team captain for Nease High School under head coach Marc Osterberger… led the Panthers to a Class 4A State Championships in 2008 as NHS posted a 19-2-6 record… played club soccer for the Jacksonville Jaguars Soccer Club… earned a TV segment dedicated to her soccer career on Florida's Sunshine Network… off the field maintained a 3.6 GPA, volunteering in various clubs such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society… daughter of Kyle and Dana Summerall… plans on majoring in Broadcast Communications… comes from an athletic background… granddaughter of Hall of Fame NFL Broadcaster Pat Summerall, that played 10 years in the NFL for the New York Giants after a successful collegiate career at Arkansas… other grandfather played basketball at Florida, while father played tennis at Rollins.
Kathy Musacchio (Nashville, Tenn.) - Was a four-year letterwinner at Pope John Paul II High School under head coach Mike McLaurn… led the Knights to a 2008 TSSAA Class A-AA state semifinals birth after winning the region championship… played for the Brentwood Premier '92 club soccer team under head coach Chris Price…help Premier to two state championships… off the field Musacchio earned a 3.6 GPA, while being named a National AP Scholar and receiving the President's award for Academic Excellence… also spent time volunteering at Alive Hospice and the Ronald McDonald House… daughter of Rick and Karen Musacchio… plans to major in Biology… sister of Annie Musacchio of conference-rival Belmont.
