SANKT POLTEN, Austria (Sept. 11, 2014) - ETSU Women's Soccer members Simona Koren (Graz, Austria) and Sarah Zadrazil (St. Gilgen, Austria) will join the Austria Women's National Team for the squad's upcoming matches in the UEFA Women's World Cup Qualifying stage.

Koren and Zadrazil have played integral roles in ETSU's program-best start to the 2014 season, helping lead the Buccaneers to wins in each of the team's first six matches.

Koren has recorded an NCAA-leading nine goals in ETSU's six matches en route to being tabbed Southern Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week in two of the first three weeks of the season. The Graz, Austria, native has also dished out two assists.

Meanwhile, Zadrazil has recorded eight assists for the Bucs, ranking third in the nation. The reigning Atlantic Sun Women's Soccer Player of the Year, Zadrazil has also scored two goals.

With Koren and Zadrazil pacing ETSU's offense, the unbeaten Bucs boast the nation's top scoring offense, averaging five goals and 15.33 points per game.

Both players are accustomed to playing on a global stage, as Zadrazil has earned more than eight caps for the Austria National Team, while Koren will be earning her first cap with the women's senior team. Both Zadrazil and Koren have competed on Austria's U19 and U17 teams.

"It's always a great honor to represent my country," Zadrazil said. "And it is always good competition and a high level of soccer."

Koren and Zadrazil will gain valuable experience while competing in the World Cup Qualifiers before rejoining ETSU for the remainder of the season.

"Representing ETSU abroad means a lot for me," Koren said. "Being able to play internationally alongside and against the best players in Europe can help me to improve personally in many ways, which I can then bring back to help ETSU."

The Austria National Team will face off against Hungary Saturday, Sept. 13, followed by Kazakhstan Wednesday, Sept. 17. Both matches will be played in Austria as part of the Group 7 qualifying round.
