Women's Tennis Takes Part in Louisville Invitational

Women's Tennis Takes Part in Louisville Invitational Johnson City, Tenn.-- The East Tennessee State women's tennis team is on the road competing in the University of Louisville Invitational on October 20-23.

In first-round action, ETSU's Paty Vega defeated Wisconsin's Vanessa Rauh 6-3, 6-1 in second round action of the A Flight. She will take on Indiana State's Karen Hunan in quarterfinal action Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

Jessica Irey was defeated in the B Flight first round by DePaul's Rachel Dybas 3-6, 6-4, 1-6. Irey then defeated Charlotte's Laurien Hastings 6-1,6-2 in the consolation round. Cara Prupas was also defeated in B Flight action by Cincinnati's Jen Capuzzi 3-6, 2-6. She then defeated Butler's Mindy Champion 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 in the consolation round. She will take on Eastern Illinois' Caroline Hague Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Aimee Villavicencio advanced to the second round of the D Flight after ousting Xavier's Lindsey Dressman 6-0,6-4. In second round action she was defeated by Wyoming's Ani Santi 2-6,2-6. She will participate in the consolation draw on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against Butler's Emily Dukeman.
