In singles action, No. 92 Yevgeniya Stupak breezed by Maria Maggiorini, 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 1 slot, while Olya Batsula defeated Maria Braniecka, 7-6, 4-0, ret. in the second position. In the third slot Tara Byrne raced by Lauren Pfeiffer, 6-1, 6-0 while Elena Volobueva defeated Jordan Vaughn, 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 4 slot. Freshman Andra Voinea picked up another win for the Bucs as she defeated Leah Johnson 6-1, 6-1 in the fifth position.
"It was good to get another win in the conference. The girls played well. It was a good tune up match for tomorrow. It's going to be a tough match against Louisiana-Lafayette," said head coach Steve Brooks. "Olya and Elena both moved up on the career singles win list today. Olya is now in sole possession of third while Elena is in sixth."
