JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 22, 2007) - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its first national rankings of the spring season earlier this week. Sophomore Yevgeniya Stupak (Kyiv, Ukraine) became the first Lady Buc to ever earn a national ranking. Stupak and teammate Olya Batsula (Minsk, Belarus) were also ranked nationally in doubles.

Stupak who is currently 2-2 in dual play and recently defeated No. 34 Amanda Taylor of 12th-ranked Vanderbilt is ranked 89th in the nation. She was ranked in the preseason at No. 90.

Batsula and Stupak who are 2-2 in doubles became the first ETSU women's doubles team to ever earn a national ranking. They currently sit at No. 56 after facing some of the nation's stiffest competition.

"I am very proud of Yevgeniya and Olya. Each year the team gets better and better. This honor not only reflects the hard work these two players put in, but how hard the team works and plays," said head coach Steve Brooks.
