JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 23, 2007) - The Lady Bucs tennis team earned four titles on Sunday as they concluded action at the annual ETSU Fall Invitational held on September 22 and 23.

Competing in the Red Singles Draw, newcomer Andra Voinea (Brasov, Romania) cruised by Lauren Holden of Appalachian State, 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the semifinals where she defeated Gardner Webb's Amy Beavers, 6-4, 6-4. In the championship match, Voinea breezed by Radford's Ashton Downs, 6-2, 6-1 to earn her first collegiate title.

In the Brown Singles, Whitney Trotter (Guadalajara, Mexico) picked up the second singles title as she defeated Katie Barnhill of Tennessee Tech, 6-1, 6-2 before defeating Shea Huxtable of Georgia Southern in the semifinals, 6-4, 6-2. Trotter then defeated Radford's Cassandra Price in a hard-fought match 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 to claim the title.

The Lady Bucs earned the two other titles in doubles competition as the duo of Trotter and Brittany Stewart (Brentwood, Tennessee) defeated Patricia La Rovere and Adriana Borda of Mars Hill College, 8-4 before defeating Georgia Southern's Jessica Matlosz and Emma Knight in the semifinals. The duo then took on Ali Beavers and Christine Caforio also of Georgia Southern defeating them, 8-5 for the Blue Doubles title.

Competing in the Orange Doubles, Andra Voinea paired with junior Vita Moskaliova (Minsk, Belarus) as they dropped Mariona Jane and Amanda Massey of Western Carolina, 8-3 before cruising to an 8-1 victory over Carson Newman's Elizabeth Sneed and Cassie Moulton. The duo claimed the title as they breezed by Monica Tomas and Lindsay King of Appalachian State, 8-1.

"We had a great tournament this weekend. We had wonderful weather and a lot of great competition," said head coach Steve Brooks. "Overall I think some of our girls played really well. We still have some things that we need to work on but it was a great weekend."
