No. 74-ranked Stupak looks to move 4-0 on the season

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 27, 2009) - After picking up its first win of the season on the road against Charleston Southern last Friday, the ETSU women's tennis team looks to keep its winning ways as they travel to take on No. 67 Mississippi State with a 3:00 p.m contest Saturday at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Center in Starkville, Miss.

The Lady Bucs (1-3) looked strong against CSU dropping the Lady Buccaneers 5-2, in its first dual outdoor match of the season. Individually, junior Yevgeniya Stupak (Kyiv, Ukraine) looked commanding once again as the preseason Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year picked up her third consecutive win. The No. 74-ranked ITA singles player has still not dropped a set all season. Also for the Bucs doubles teammate and freshman Paula Jamie (Madrid, Spain) looks to keep her momentum in Starkville as the Buc newcomer has picked up back-to-back doubles wins, while also clinching ETSU's victory against Charleston Southern in singles play.

Mississippi State (7-0) comes into the match after a 6-1 triumph over Memphis Feb. 19. Overall, the Lady Bulldogs have dropped nationally ranked South Alabama and Texas Tech, while boasting one of the top singles players in the Southeastern Conference in senior Martina Banikova.
