BRISTOL, Tenn. (Feb. 1, 2014) - Behind stellar singles play from Anna Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela)Salma Dahbi (Marrakech, Morocco), and Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.), the ETSU women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over Western Carolina Saturday to remain unbeaten at home this season.

Together, Gerbasi, Dahbi, and Brumit dropped just four games en route to winning No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles, respectively.

"It's good to get a win," ETSU head coach Travis Sandlant said. "We are looking forward to the next few weeks when we are back to a full, healthy squad."

Saturday's match marked just the first time this season the Bucs (2-2) were able to field a full lineup.

Brumit teamed with senior Giulia Andreazza (Balneario Camboriu, Brazil) to take the No. 1 doubles spot. The duo outlasted Western Carolina's Stacia Kissell and Shannon Bettiol in a tiebreak, 8-7 (2).

Meanwhile, Gerbasi and Dahbi coasted to an 8-2 victory at the second doubles spot.

Individually, Gerbasi and Dahbi extended their unbeaten streaks at singles. With her win over the Catamounts' Shannon Bettiol, Gerbasi moved to 4-0 in singles play this season, while Dahbi, who is currently ranked 118th in the nation, improved her singles record to 3-0.

ETSU has beaten the Catamounts (0-1) each of the past three seasons.

Due to weather conditions, Saturday's match was played at the Bristol Racquet and Fitness Club.

With the win over Western Carolina, ETSU moved to 2-0 at home on the year.

The Buccaneers will look to carry the momentum gained from Saturday's win into their next pair of non-conference matches. ETSU will visit Wofford and No. 52 Virginia Tech next weekend.
