ETSU begins road swing at Wofford and No. 52 Virginia Tech

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb. 6, 2014) - On the heels of a commanding 5-2 win over Western Carolina, the ETSU women's tennis team will look to continue its winning ways when it visits Wofford and No. 52 Virginia Tech this weekend.

LAST TIME OUT

The Buccaneers (2-2) moved to 2-0 at home with a 5-2 victory over Western Carolina Saturday, Feb. 1.

Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.)Anna Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela), and Salma Dahbi (Marrakech, Morocco) were each victorious in singles play to lead the Bucs.

ETSU also won the doubles point thanks to wins by the duos of Brumit and Giulia Andreazza (Balneario Camboriu, Brazil), and Gerbasi and Dahbi.

Brumit and Dahbi are each ranked 118th in the ITA Women's Division-I Rankings.

Gerbasi will ride a four-match singles win streak into Friday's match-up with Wofford, while Dahbi will look to extend her three-match win streak in singles play.

WOFFORD - Friday, Feb. 7 at 1:00 p.m. - SPARTANBURG, S.C.

The Terriers (2-1) began the season with a pair of wins before, 6-1, to UNC Asheville last weekend.

Catherine Martin is a flawless 3-0 at No. 4 singles this season.

No. 52 VIRGINIA TECH - Saturday, Feb. 8 at 12:00 p.m. - BLACKSBURG, Va.

The Hokies (4-2) will enter the weekend riding a two-match win streak.

Virginia Tech has earned a pair of victories over nationally-ranked opponents this season, knocking off No. 74 Elon and No. 43 William & Mary.
