SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb. 7, 2014) – The ETSU women’s tennis team was edged by Southern Conference opponent Wofford, 4-2, Friday afternoon.

Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) and Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.) found the win column for the Bucs (2-3), winning at No. 1 and No. 5 singles, respectively.

With the match knotted at two points apiece, Wofford was able to take the final two singles points (No. 3 and No. 2) via tiebreakers.

ETSU will meet the Terriers (3-1) in conference-play next season as the Bucs transition into the SoCon.

With her loss to Wofford’s Julia Paulson, sophomore Anna Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela) saw her four-match win streak come to an end. The result was Gerbasi’s first regular season singles loss since April 7, 2013.

ETSU will look to shake off Friday’s loss when it visits No. 52 Virginia Tech Saturday, Feb. 8 at 12:00 p.m.
