CLEMSON, S.C. (Oct. 5, 2013) - Salma Dahbi paced the ETSU women's tennis team Saturday at the Duckworth Fall College Classic in Clemson, S.C., advancing to a singles flight title match.
Dahbi was tested in the first round of the No. 7 singles flight, dropping the opening set to Kennesaw State's Blaire LaSure, 6-1. However, Dahbi battled back, taking the second set, 6-0, before winning a third-set tie-break, 10-4, to advance to the flight semifinals.
In the semifinals, Dahbi dropped just four total games to Jill Lewis of UNC-Asheville, winning, 6-3, 6-1.
Dahbi will take on Charleston Southern's Alia Nour Sunday in the final round.
In other singles action for the Bucs, Lyn Yee Choo was edged in a third-set tie-break, 5-7, 6-3, 10-8, by Clemson's Tristan Dewar. Anna Gerbasi was eliminated in the opening round of her respective flight, while Sofia Espana advanced to the second round before being eliminated.
