SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Sept. 19, 2014) - Three ETSU women's tennis players advanced to the quarterfinals of their respective singles flights at the USC Upstate Fall Classic Friday. The Bucs also sent a doubles team to the quarterfinals of the Doubles Green Draw.

In singles play, junios Reginka Nychytailova (Maripol, Ukraine) and Ana Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela), and freshman Jayde Viccars (Glen Waverely, Australia) each advanced to the quarterfinals of their respective singles draws.

Nychytailova defeated George Washington's Rokia Sacko (Gardner Webb), 6-1, 7-6, in the first round of the Singles Green Draw.

Gerbasi, who earned a spot on the Atlantic Sun Singles Second Team each of the past two seasons, knocked off Chattanooga's Katie Polk, 6-1, 6-4, in the Singles White Draw.

Meanwhile, Viccars cruised to a victory over Presbyterian's Antonia Conze, 6-0, 6-2, in the Singles Black Draw.

Gerbasi and Nychytailova teamed up to defeat Wofford's Taylor Carson and Brooke Graham, 8-0, to advance to the quarterfinals of the Doubles Green Draw. The ETSU tandem was edged narrowly in the quarterfinals, falling to Chattanoog's Kayla Jones and Samantha Caswell, 8-7 (4).

Day Two of the three-day USC Upstate Fall Classic will be played Saturday, Sept. 20.

First round: Ana Gerbasi/Reginka Nychytailova (ETSU) def. Taylor Carson/Brooke Graham (Wofford), 8-0

Quarterfinals: Kayla Jones/Samantha Caswell (Chattanooga) def. Gerbasi/Nychytailova (ETSU), 8-7 (4)
