WILMINGTON, N.C. (Oct. 3, 2014) - All four ETSU players in action at the UNC Wilmington Invitational Friday advanced to the semifinals of their respective singles flights. Day Two of the three-day tournament will take place Saturday, Oct. 4.

Senior Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Campbell's Maud Mrad in the quarterfinals of the A1 Singles flight. Choo will take on UNC Wilmington's Annika Sillanpaa Saturday for a spot in the flight finals.

Junior Ana Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela) and freshman Jayde Viccars (Glen Waverely, Australia) advanced to the semifinals of the B1 and B2 Singles flights, respectively, while freshman Ionna Markesini (Athens, Greece) outlasted Coastal Carolina's Cari Berry, 6-3, 7-6 (2), to earn a spot in the A2 Singles semis.

All four semifinal matches will be played Saturday, Oct. 4, with Choo, Markesini, and Gerbasi's matches beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Viccars' semifinal match will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Semifinals: Gerbasi (ETSU) vs. Marie Babayan (Coastal Carolina), Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

B2 Singles

Quarterfinals: Jayde Viccars (ETSU) def. Lynsey Cover (NC Central), 6-4, 6-2

Semifinals: Viccars (ETSU) vs. Mila Majtan (Coastal Carolina), Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

A Doubles

Quarterfinals: Stanic/Karangozishvili (Campbell) def. Choo/Markesini (ETSU), 8-7 (3)

Consolation semifinals: Choo/Markesini (ETSU) vs. Bondar/Berry (Coastal Carolina), Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

B Doubles

Quarterfinals: Gerbasi/Viccars (ETSU) def. Telenga/Renz (Campbell), 8-1

Semifinals: Gerbasi/Viccars (ETSU) vs. Ramic/Muamba (NC Central), Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
