NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 31, 2015) - ETSU took the doubles point, along with five of six singles points, to put away non-conference opponent Belmont, 6-1, Saturday evening in Nashville, Tenn. With the win, the Buccaneers remain unbeaten, standing at 3-0 midway through their season's second weekend.

ETSU took a 1-0 lead into singles play after opening with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles spots.

At No. 1 Doubles, Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) and Ana Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela) knocked off the Bruins' (0-4) Lindsey Whitehead and Kendall Warren, 6-1. Meanwhile, ETSU's Ionna Markesini (Athens, Greece) and Melissa Esguerra (Derrimutt, Australia) also earned a 6-1 victory at No. 3 Doubles.

"These matches are the ones that will help us get rhythm for the next ones," Gerbasi said. "I think we have a good team—we just have to work hard every match and the results will come."

Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and Reginka Nychytailova (Maripol, Ukraine) were in the midst of a tightly-contested match at the No. 2 spot when the Bucs clinched the doubles point.

The Buccaneers (3-0) continued to assert themselves in singles play, with five of ETSU's six players finding the win column—each in straight sets.

Through the team's first three matches, ETSU has posted a cumulative singles record of 16-2.

The Bucs will continue their Middle Tennessee road trip Sunday, Feb. 1, as they visit Clarksville to take on Austin Peay.
