CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 1, 2015) - Off to the program's best start since 2004, the ETSU women's tennis team remained unbeaten Sunday, earning a commanding, 7-0, road win versus Austin Peay to move to 4-0 on the season.

Sunday's 7-0 win comes just one day after the Buccaneers (4-0) defeated Belmont, 6-1, in Nashville, Tenn.

ETSU is off to the program's best start since 2004 when the Bucs also began the season 4-0.

"It was a pleasing weekend," ETSU coach Travis Sandlant said. "We are getting some matches under our belt and gaining some confidence."

Since losing the doubles point in their season-opening win against Appalachian State, the Bucs have reeled off seven straight doubles victories.

For the third consecutive match, ETSU earned the doubles point Sunday to take a 1-0 advantage on Austin Peay.

Ana Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela) and Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) came away victorious at No. 1 Doubles, defeating the Governors' (0-4) Ornella Di Salvo and Hannah Tatlock, 6-2. Meanwhile, Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and Jayde Viccars (Glen Waverely, Australia) earned a 6-3 win at the No. 3 doubles spot.

ETSU swept all six singles spots versus Austin Peay—the second time the Bucs have accomplished that feat in their first four matches.

With singles victories Sunday, Reginka Nychytailova (Maripol, Ukraine)Ionna Markesini (Athens, Greece), Choo, and Gerbasi each improved their spring singles records to 4-0.

"Reginka [Nychytailova] stepped up at No. 1 today and saved two set points in the first set, so that was good to see," Sandlant said.

Through four matches, ETSU has posted an impressive cumulative singles record of 22-2.

The Bucs will return home Sunday, Feb. 8 to play host to UT-Martin at 9:00 a.m., inside the Bristol Racquet and Fitness Club in Bristol, Tenn.
