JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 2, 2015) - ETSU saw its four-match win streak come to an end Thursday as Chattanooga rallied from a 3-0 deficit to edge ETSU, 4-3, in Johnson City. The loss marked the Bucs' first setback in Southern Conference competition.

The Buccaneers (10-4, 3-1 SoCon) came from behind to win at both No. 2 and No. 3 Doubles to take an early 1-0 match advantage.

At the No. 2 position, Jessica Brumit (Elizabethon, Tenn.) and Regina Nychytailova (Maripol, Ukraine) defeated Kaylene Chadwell and Kelsey Coots, 8-7 (7-4). Meanwhile, at No. 3, Ioanna Markesini (Athens, Greece) and Melissa Esguerra (Derrimutt, Australia) earned an 8-7 (7-3) victory versus Chattanooga's Claire Mulyadi and Katie Polk.

ETSU extended its match lead to 3-0 with straight-set singles wins by Nychytailova and Markesini at the No. 2 and No. 5 positions, respectively.

Markesini's win at No. 5 Singles marked her team-best fifth consecutive win in singles play.

It was then that the Mocs (15-2, 3-0 SoCon) flipped the script, rattling off four consecutive wins—each in three sets—to clinch the narrow, 4-3 victory.

"Full credit to Chattanooga today," ETSU coach Travis Sandlant said. "That was the biggest comeback win I have been involved in. For us once again, it was totally unacceptable as a team to be where we were and lose again."

Chattanooga's Kayla Jones became the first player since Feb. 14 to defeat ETSU's Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia), snapping Choo's seven-match singles win streak.

The Bucs will look to bounce back Saturday, April 4 when they visit SoCon opponent Samford in Birmingham, Ala.
