GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 23, 2015) - Third-seeded ETSU will go toe-to-toe with No. 6 seed Wofford Friday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m., in the quarterfinals of this weekend's Southern Conference Women's Tennis Championship.

The three-day league tournament, which will be played April 24-26, will take place in Greenville, S.C., on the campus of Furman University.

GETTING UP TO SPEED

As announced by the league office Wednesday, April 22, six ETSU players earned all-conference honors.

Senior Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.) received the conference's Sportsmanship Award, becoming the third player in program history to earn the distinction.

No. 1 and No. 2 Singles players, Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) and Regina Nychytailova (Maripol, Ukraine), were named to the All-SoCon Singles First Team after combining to go 28-7 in singles play and 20-7 in doubles competition.

Meanwhile, the doubles tandem of Choo and Ana Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela) earned Doubles First Team status.

Freshmen Melissa Esguerra (Derrimutt, Australia) and Ioanna Markesini (Athens, Greece) were named to the All-SoCon Doubles Second Team, in addition to earning spots on the All-Freshman Team.

The Buccaneers (13-5, 5-2 SoCon), who are in the midst of a three-match win streak, finished the regular season by winning seven of their last nine matches.

OPPONENT AT A GLANCE

ETSU and Wofford faced off Friday, March 20 in Spartanburg, S.C., with the Bucs earning a 7-0 victory.

The Terriers (9-10, 2-5 SoCon) rounded out the regular season with a 6-1 win versus Western Carolina; however, Wofford suffered setbacks in three of its final four contests.
