SPARTANBURG, S.C. (June 27, 2016) – The league office announced on Monday that 49 ETSU student-athletes earned spots on the spring 2016 Academic All-Southern Conference team.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (May 13, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team’s historic 2016 season came to a close Friday afternoon as No. 3 North Carolina shut out the Bucs, 4-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. With the loss, the Bucs’ record finishes at 20-3, which is the fewest losses the program has ever had in a single season.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (May 12, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team will make its fifth appearance all-time in the NCAA Tournament Friday when it takes on No. 3 North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
SKILLMAN, N.J. (May 9, 2016) – ETSU women’s tennis player Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) was named the Ohio Valley Region ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership award winner by the ITA Monday afternoon. Choo is the second player in program history to receive this honor joining former Buc Tara Bryne, who took home the award in 2009.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 3, 2016) – Nine days after capturing its first ever Southern Conference Championship, the ETSU women’s tennis team now knows who it will face in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bucs, who are 20-2 this season, will take on No. 3 North Carolina on May 13 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 28, 2016) – ETSU Head Women’s Tennis Coach Travis Sandlant announced Thursday the signing of Yu-Ting Hsieh (Taipei, Taiwan) to a National Letter of Intent for the 2016-17 season.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 27, 2016) – ETSU women’s tennis player Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held April 20-26, the league office announced Wednesday. It is the sixth time since January that an ETSU student-athlete has been honored with this award, which is the most of any school in the conference. Additionally, it is the second time Choo has won the award this spring.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 24, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team made history Sunday afternoon in Chattanooga as the Bucs shut out Samford, 4-0, to capture their first ever Southern Conference Tournament Championship. With the win the Bucs have locked up the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. It will be the team’s first appearance in the tournament since 2014 and the fifth in the program’s history.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 23, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team knocked off in-state rival Chattanooga, 4-0, in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Championship Saturday afternoon. The Bucs improve to 19-2 with the win over the Mocs and advance to their second straight conference championship game.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 22, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis earned its seven shutout of the 2016 season Friday as it defeated No. 7 seed Mercer, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Championship. The Bucs’ record moves to 18-2 overall with the victory.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 21, 2016) – After finishing the regular season with a 17-2 record overall and a 6-1 mark in conference play, the ETSU women’s tennis team is set to compete in the Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Championship this weekend. The Bucs, who drew the No. 2 seed in the tournament, will take on No. 7 seed Mercer in the quarterfinals at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. The three-day event will be played April 22-24 at the Champion’s Club in Chattanooga.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 19, 2016) – Five members of the ETSU women’s tennis team were honored with postseason accolades Tuesday by the league office. The Bucs, who finished the season with a 17-2 overall record and 6-1 mark in conference play, had two players garner first team honors and three others earned spots on the second team.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 16, 2016) – In a match to decide the SoCon regular season champion, Furman edged the ETSU women’s tennis team by a score of 4-3 Saturday. With the loss the Bucs finish the regular season with a record of 17-2 overall and 6-1 in conference action.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 15, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team will have a chance to make history Saturday when it hosts Furman in its regular season finale at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex. If the Bucs knock off Furman they will clinch the program’s first ever regular season SoCon Championship and their fifth conference title overall.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 6, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team capped off its final regular season road trip with a 7-0 win at UNCG Wednesday afternoon. The win not only improves the Bucs’ road record this spring to 8-0 but also moves their record to 17-1 overall. It is the first season in program history that the Bucs have finished a regular season with an unblemished road record.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 5, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team will hit the road for the final time in the regular season Wednesday as it heads to Greensboro, N.C. for a match against UNCG. ETSU, which is 16-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play, will look to finish its regular season road schedule unbeaten for the first time in program history.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 3, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team picked up its seventh straight win Sunday as it knocked off Samford, 6-1, at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex. ETSU improves to 5-0 in conference matches and moves its record to 16-1 overall this spring. The 16 victories by the Bucs are the most for the team since 2010 when they posted 17 wins.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 2, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team will take on Samford Sunday at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex in a matchup between the top two teams in the SoCon standings. The Bucs enter the match with a record of 15-1 overall and 4-0 in conference action, while the Bulldogs are 8-8 this spring with an unblemished 3-0 record against SoCon competition. First serve between ETSU and Samford is scheduled for 1 p.m.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 25, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team continued to roll Friday as it swept SoCon rival Chattanooga, 7-0. ETSU won five of six singles contests in straight sets and took two of the three doubles tilts. With the victory, the Bucs move to 15-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 24, 2016) – In its second to last road match of the regular season, the ETSU women’s tennis team will travel to take on Chattanooga Friday. The match between the Bucs and Mocs is scheduled to begin at noon from the Champions Club.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 18, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team earned its second consecutive shutout over a Southern Conference opponent Friday as it defeated Western Carolina, 7-0. The Buccaneers remain undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record and move their record to 14-1 overall.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 17, 2016) — Sunday’s women’s tennis match between ETSU and Western Carolina originally scheduled to be played at 2:00 p.m., in Johnson City, has been rescheduled and will instead be played Friday, March 18 at 4:00 p.m., in Johnson City.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 16, 2016) – After competing in a pair of tough 4-3 matches on the road last week, the ETSU women’s tennis team returned home Wednesday and cruised to a 7-0 victory over Wofford. ETSU, which notched its fourth shutout of the season Wednesday, improved to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with the win.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 15, 2016) – The 12-1 ETSU women’s tennis team will return to the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex this week as they host Wofford Wednesday and Western Carolina Sunday. Start times for both SoCon matches are scheduled for 2 p.m.
MACON, Ga. (March 12, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team opened Southern Conference play with a 4-3 victory over Mercer Saturday morning. ETSU remains undefeated on the road with a record of 6-0 and improve to 12-1 overall.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 10, 2016) – The only time the ETSU women’s tennis team held the lead in Thursday’s match against North Florida was when it mattered most as it knocked off its former Atlantic Sun rival, 4-3. With the victory, the Bucs pick up their 11th win of the season and move their record to 11-1.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 9, 2016) – After dropping its first match of the spring Sunday against No. 66 Winthrop, the ETSU women’s tennis team will return to action this week for a pair of matches against former Atlantic Sun rivals. The road swing will begin Thursday when the Bucs take on North Florida at 11 a.m.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 6, 2016) – No. 66 Winthrop handed the ETSU women’s tennis team its first loss of the 2016 season Sunday afternoon at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex. The 66nd-ranked Eagles, who won the match 5-2, improve to 7-1, while the Bucs move to 10-1.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (March 4, 2016) – Facing perhaps its toughest test so far this spring, the ETSU women’s tennis notched its tenth consecutive victory Friday over Akron, 5-2. With the victory the Bucs continue to build upon their record-breaking start to the season improving to 10-0.

ELON, N.C. (Feb. 28, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team improved to 9-0 Sunday with a 6-1 victory at Elon. With the win against Elon, the Buccaneers are not only 9-0 for the first time in program history but they are also the first team in the program’s 32 seasons to begin the season 4-0 in road matches.

(Feb. 26, 2016) – After dropping the doubles point, the 73rd-ranked ETSU women’s tennis team rebounded to take all four singles matches to notch its eighth straight win Friday over UNC Wilmington. With the victory, the Buccaneers improve to 8-0 for the first time in the program’s history.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 25, 2016) – The 73rd-ranked ETSU women’s tennis team will look to keep its perfect record intact this weekend as it heads to North Carolina for a pair of matches. The Bucs will face UNC Wilmington at 2 p.m. Friday and will close out the road swing against Elon Sunday at 1 p.m.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Feb. 20, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team improved its record to 7-0 this season with a 4-1 victory over Middle Tennessee State Saturday morning.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Feb. 19, 2016) – In over 30 years of competition, the ETSU women’s tennis team never began a season 6-0. That fact changed today as the Bucs defeated UT Martin Friday afternoon in Murfreesboro, Tenn. to improve to 6-0 for the first time in program history.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 18, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team will head out on the road for just the second time this season as it heads to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for a pair of matches against UT Martin and Middle Tennessee State this weekend.
BRISTOL, Tenn. (Feb. 14, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team improved its record to 5-0 Sunday with a 6-1 win over Emory at the Bristol Racket Club. It marks the second consecutive season that the Bucs have begun their season with a 5-0 record.

Senior Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) was the only ETSU player in action and tallied a record of 1-1. Overall, the Buccaneers complied a record of 7-7 at the event.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Oct. 15, 2015) – A pair doubles victories by the East Tennessee State University women’s team highlighted its first day at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals Thursday. Overall, the Buccaneers accumulated a record of 3-2.
WINSTON SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 11, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University women’s tennis team had six matches on the docket for the last day of the Wake Forest Invitational. At the end of the day, the Buccaneers took home a 6-0 record. Three Bucs won their singles flights and ETSU picked up three victories over ACC competitors.
WINSTON SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 10, 2015) – Each of the three doubles pairs for the East Tennessee State University women’s team earned a victory Saturday at the Wake Forest Invitational with two of the duos earning a pair of victories.

The Bucs won seven of eight singles matches against Campbell and went 1-2 in three doubles matches against Wisconsin.
WILMINGTON, N.C. (Sept. 11, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University women’s tennis team opened fall competition Friday at the UNC Wilmington Invitational. The Bucs went 4-4 in singles competition against Big 10 opponent, Wisconsin, while going 2-1 in doubles against UNC Wilmington.
