Espana reaches Consolation Final in Florida

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University women’s tennis team went a perfect 3-0 on the second day of the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic in Lakewood, Florida. Highlighting the day for ETSU was a pair of victories by freshman Marina Espana (Castellar Del Valles, Spain). With the pair of victories, Espana improves to 10-2 this fall.

“Marina had some good wins today against some quality colleges today,” said ETSU Head Coach Travis Sandlant. “She played the golden points very well and that was a big difference in the outcome.”

Espana’s victories came against USF’s Vanja Klaric and Princeton’s Sivan Krems. Senior Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malyasia) picked up a win over FGCU’s Joselyn Treyes in a match not in the draw.

Espana will try to win the consolation bracket Sunday when she takes on Tennessee’s Kim Kermet at 9:30 a.m.
