Bucs’ hot start to the season continues with a victory vs. the Blue Raiders

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Feb. 20, 2016) – The ETSU women’s tennis team improved its record to 7-0 this season with a 4-1 victory over Middle Tennessee State Saturday morning. The seven-match winning streak by the Bucs is not only their best ever to begin a season but is also the team’s longest winning streak since the 2013 season.

“MTSU played tough today,” remarked ETSU Head Coach Travis Sandlant. “We definitely played some of our best tennis today and it was a complete team effort.”

ETSU picked up the doubles point thanks to victories out of the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. Ioanna Markesini (Athens, Greece) and Marina Espana (Castellar Del Valles, Spain) teamed up to tally one of those victories. Markesini and Espana are now 6-0 this season.
