JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 7, 2018) –The ETSU women’s tennis team picked up their first win of the season this past Saturday, with a 4-3 win over Tusculum. The Bucs are eager to continue that momentum when they head to Harrogate, Tenn. to take on the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters. This will be the first time in program history that both teams will meet. The Bucs will also be the first Division I team LMU will host since 1992.

About the Bucs
ETSU won their first match of the season against Tusculum. Esther Guemes (Madrid, Spain), Ioanna Markesini (Athens, Greece), Alejandra Morales (Santiago, Chile), and Alory Pereira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) each have wins in singles. The doubles duos of Melissa Esguerra (Derrimutt, Australia) and Jayde Viccars (Glen Waverley, Australia) have a win this season, along with Alejandra Morales and Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga (Basauri, Spain). ETSU doesn’t have another match until the weekend of Feb. 17 and 18 when they play two matches in Akron, Ohio.
About Lincoln Memorial
The Lincoln Memorial women’s tennis team comes into tomorrow’s match with a 3-1 record. They picked up three straight wins against UVA-Wise, Emmanuel and Cumberlands to kick off their season. Their streak was snapped by a 6-1 loss to Bellarmine. The Railsplitters have a roster of 10. Julia Loos and Julia Valls lead the Railsplitters in singles, as they are both undefeated. Also in singles, Marta Pinol, Angelica Solano, and Julia Zellner each have 3-1 records.
