MACON, Ga. (Oct. 7, 2018) – After a long two days of first fall tournament, the ETSU women’s tennis team concluded action at the Mercer Gridiron Classic in Macon, Ga. The double pair of Yi Chi Ma and Alejandra Morales went undefeated in doubles play throughout the weekend.

Raquel Amaro had one last match of the Gridiron Classic and defeated Nevena Georgieva from Charleston Southern, 6-4, 6-3 in the Flight A Consolation. Also in Flight A was Laylo Bakhodirova, but she fell to Katie Sidor from Mercer 6-4, 6-3.

In the extra consolation draws, Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga and Yunen Elizarraras each competed. Pascual-Larrinaga earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Gabby Hesse from Florida Southern, and another win of 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (5) against Magda Stepnik. Elizzarraras was defeated by Tingting Pei from Troy 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (7).

Yi Chi Ma and Alejandra Morales picked up right where they left off on Saturday. They took on Alba Conejero and Harriet Hamilton from Jacksonville University and won 6-1.
