Women’s tennis hosts Liberty on Saturday morning

BRISTOL, Tenn. (Feb. 8, 2019) – The ETSU women’s tennis team plays their second straight home match when they host Liberty on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 10:00 a.m. Due to weather, the match will be played indoors at the Bristol Racquet Club.

The Bucs are fresh off a win over Tusculum, improving their overall record to 3-2. This is also the second time this season that they’ve swept an opponent. ETSU has a 17-11 record in singles and a 5-7 record in doubles. Freshman Raquel Amaro (Caracas, Venezuela) leads the Bucs with a 4-1 record at the No. 4 spot. Laylo Bakhodirova (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), Alejandra Morales (Santiago, Chile) and Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga (Basauri, Spain) each have a 3-2 record in singles.

Liberty enters Saturday’s match with a 2-1 record, with wins over UNCG and Navy. Liberty has a 12-6 record in singles and a 6-3 record in doubles. In dual matches, Grace Hashiguchi is undefeated with a 2-0 record. Alexandra Almborg, Ashley Bongart, Maria Medina, and Kalani Soli all have a record of 2-1. Soli and Hashiguchi combine in doubles and are also 2-0.
