Women’s tennis gears up for two matches in Ohio

CINCINNATI, Ohio (Feb. 28, 2019) – The ETSU women’s tennis team gears up for two road matches in Cincinnati, Ohio this weekend. The Bucs will take on Cincinnati on Friday, March 1 at 5:00 p.m., followed by a match against Xavier on Saturday, March 2 at 4:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.

About the Bucs

ETSU is 5-5 and have a 3-5 record on the road. As a team, ETSU has a 30-22 record in singles and 10-14 record in doubles. Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga (Basauri, Spain) leads ETSU with a 7-2 record, while Raquel Amaro (Caracas, Venezuela) is 7-2 in singles. Amaro also combines with Yi Chi Ma (Kaohsiung, Taiwan) in doubles, as the pair holds a 4-3 record and are undefeated at the No. 1 doubles spot.

About Cincinnati

Cincinnati enters the weekend with a 5-4 record and are 0-1 in the AAC. They have lost their last two matches, but are 2-0 at home. The Bearcats are 35-23 in singles and 19-9 in doubles. Maria Santilli is undefeated in singles, with eight wins. Emma Miceli also has eight wins, holding an 8-2 record. In doubles, Antonella Bramato and Alexia Coutino lead the Bearcats with a 7-2 record.

About Xavier

Xavier is 6-2 overall, while holding a 2-0 record in the BIG EAST. The Musketeers are 27-15 in singles and 14-7 in doubles. Kaitlin Ruether leads Xavier with a 6-1 record. Sophia Abelson is 2-0 at the No. 1 singles spot, but has a 5-3 overall record. The Musketeers have two doubles pair that have five wins. Emily Thomas and Ahmeir Kyle are 5-1 and Hunter Roper and Rachael Reichenbach are 5-2.
