JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 1, 2019) – The ETSU women’s tennis team concludes a three-match home stand on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. ETSU will welcome the Mercer Bears at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex, as the Bucs look to stay undefeated in the SoCon.
The Bucs are currently in second place with a 3-0 record, trailing right behind Furman, with a 4-0 record. ETSU and Furman are the only two teams with an undefeated conference record. ETSU is 8-9 overall, holding a 54-39 record in singles and a 21-23 record in doubles. The Bucs are led by freshman Raquel Amaro (Caracas, Venezuela), who is 13-4 in singles. Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga (Basauri, Spain) also has double figure wins with an 11-5 record. Freshman Yunuen Elizzarraras (Cuernavaca, Mexico) has won her last four matches for the Bucs.
The Bears enter Tuesday’s match with a 10-10 overall record and are 2-3 in the SoCon. They have lost their last three matches to SoCon opponents. Mercer is 39-43 in singles and 8-30 in doubles. Katie Sidor leads the Bears with a 9-4 record, while Maeva Roquebert and Celine Schepers both have eight wins, as Schepers has won her last five matches.
