JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 9, 2019) – The ETSU women’s tennis team will host UNCG on Wednesday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex. This will be the Bucs’ final regular season match played at home, as ETSU will honor redshirt junior, Yi Chi Ma (Kaohsiung, Taiwan) for Senior Day. Ma is 7-9 in singles and 10-5 in doubles when combined with Raquel Amaro (Caracas, Venezuela). The duo leads the Bucs with the most wins in doubles.
The Bucs have been on a roll, winning their last three matches to maintain a 10-9 overall record and are undefeated in the conference. Amaro leads ETSU with a 15-4 record. Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga (Basauri, Spain) is 13-5 and Alejandra Morales (Santiago, Chile) is 10-8. As a team, ETSU is 63-42 and holds a 25-25 record in doubles.
UNCG enters Wednesday’s contest with a 9-10 overall record and are 3-3 in the SoCon. The Spartans have won their last four matches and are 55-56 in singles and 20-35 in doubles. Brianna Gomez leads the Spartans with an 11-7 record in singles. Sophia Adams also has double figure wins at 10-8.
