Tuscaloosa, Ala. — The ETSU women’s tennis team is set to continue their fall competitions this weekend when they head south to compete in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic hosted by the University of Alabama.
Two weeks ago, the Blue and Gold competed at the Ohio Valley ITA Regional. Marija Carvajal (Queretaro, Mexico) and Alejandra Morales (Santiago, Chile) picked first round wins in Nashville while Raquel Amaro (Caracas, Venezuela) and Andrea Pascual (Basauri, Spain) also recorded second round victories. Carvajal’s win was the first of her collegiate career.
ETSU will be one of 19 teams at the tournament. In addition to the host Alabama, top schools featured are Clemson, Ole Miss, Indiana, Wisconsin and Maryland. Competition will run on Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2.
This will be the third tournament of the season for the Bucs. Coach Rojas will be bringing Carvajal, Moraels, Amaro, Larrinaga and Yunuen Elizarraras (Cuernavaca, Mexico) for competition.
