TEMPE, Ariz. (June 9, 2021) -- The Oracle/ITA Division I women’s tennis regional rankings were released on Wednesday, and the ETSU Buccaneers received a pair of marks. As a team, the Blue and Gold were tied for sixth in the Ohio Valley Region, while sophomore Laylo Bakhodirova (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) was ranked No. 19, individually.

Hoover, Ala. (April 24, 2021) – The second seeded ETSU Women’s Tennis team found themselves back in the Southern Conference Championship match for the sixth straight year. The Blue and Gold were unable to upset the 32nd-ranked and top seeded Furman Paladins in Hoover, Ala. on Saturday afternoon. The Paladins defeated ETSU for the second straight week, this time 4-0.
Hoover, Ala. (April 23, 2021) – The second seeded ETSU Women’s Tennis team made quick work of the No. 3 Wofford Terriers in the Southern Conference Semifinals on Friday afternoon, blanking the Terriers 4-0 to advance to the SoCon Championship match on Saturday.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 22, 2021) — With the Southern Conference Tournament set to begin this weekend, the league office announced its postseason women’s tennis awards on Thursday afternoon.
Hoover, Ala. (April 21, 2021) – After finishing the regular season with a 6-1 record in Southern Conference play, the ETSU Women’s Tennis team earned the No. 2 seed in the SoCon Tournament, taking place in Hoover, Ala. at the Hoover Met on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24. The Bucs begin the tournament facing the three-seeded Wofford Terriers in the semifinals at 2 p.m.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced the pairings and times for the 2021 Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Championship on Sunday afternoon. Furman won the league’s regular-season crown and earned the top seed in the four-team tournament that will be held Friday, April 23, and Saturday, April 24, at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Alabama.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 29, 2021) – The ETSU Women’s Tennis Team won its third consecutive Southern Conference match on Monday morning to move to 3-0 in league play. The Bucs took down Wofford in Spartanburg, 6-1. The match was scheduled to be played yesterday, but weather in the area delayed the match to Monday morning.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 28, 2021) – Due to inclement weather in the area, ETSU’s women’s tennis match in Spartanburg against the Wofford Terriers has been postponed to tomorrow, March 29 at 10 a.m.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Feb. 25 is perhaps the most important date in the history of the Southern Conference. On that particular Friday in 1921, the first day of the league’s groundbreaking basketball tournament, representatives from 14 of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s 30 members gathered in Atlanta, Georgia, to establish the Southern Intercollegiate College.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Southern Conference Commissioner Jim Schaus announced Tuesday the formation of a Racial Equity and Justice Task Force to counsel the league by identifying concepts and developing actionable items that can be used by all conference member schools regarding improving racial equity and social justice. The 15-member panel is composed of a racially diverse blend of student-athletes, coaches, campus administrators and athletics department staff members, with at least one representative from each of the league’s 10 full member schools.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 13, 2020) – The Southern Conference Council of Presidents announced Thursday that the league will not have fall conference competition due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing for nonconference contests if desired. It is the intention to move the fall sports’ regular-season competition and championships to the spring.
