Murfreesboro, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2020) — The ETSU women’s tennis team will complete their fall slate this weekend as they travel to Middle Tennessee State for the MTSU Tournament. The two-day tournament will run from Friday, Oct. 16 to Saturday, Oct. 17.
At their first tournament of the fall, the Bucs excelled going 13-5 in singles play and 8-1 in doubles action. Yunuen Elizarraras (Cuernavaca, Mexico), Marija Carvajal (Querataro, Mexico) and Emilia Alfaro (Azul, Argentina) went a perfect 3-0 in singles matches. Alfaro heads into the second weekend of her ETSU career only losing three games in four total sets.
In doubles, the duos of Alejandra Morales (Santiago, Chile) and Mayya Gorbunova (Moscow, Russia) and Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga (Basauri, Spain) and Carvajal did not lose a match.
Elizarraras, Carvajal, Morales, Pascual-Larrinaga, Gorbunova and Emilia Alfaro will compete in Blue and Gold this weekend. The Bucs will compete against MTSU, Chattanooga and Western Kentucky.
