SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 5, 2021) – For the first time in her three-year career at ETSU, Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga (Basauri, Spain) was named the Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. The conference office announced the accolade on Monday afternoon.
Pascual-Larrinaga won her seventh and eighth straight singles matches last week to help ETSU remain perfect in Southern Conference play. In ETSU’s 6-1 win over UNCG, she swept her singles opponent with back-to-back 6-1 victories. A day later, in the Bucs’ 7-0 sweep against Chattanooga on her senior day, the Basauri, Spain native won her fourth straight singles match in straight sets. Pascual-Larrinaga and her doubles partner of Maria Carvajal have won five straight doubles matches at No. 3 without allowing their opponent to win more than three games in a set.
This is the second weekly accolade for the Blue and Gold this season after Emilia Alfaro (Azul, Argentina) was honored earlier this season.
ETSU is back in action at Western Carolina on Thursday.
