JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 23, 2022) -- The East Tennessee State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Thursday plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Title IX. Today, June 23, 2022, marks the 50th anniversary of Title IX being passed by Congress and signed into law by President Richard Nixon.

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 23, 2022) – The Bucs managed to split the first two doubles matches against NC State, but the 8th-ranked Wolfpack dominated in singles play as the Bucs fell 6-1 Sunday night.
BLACKSBURG, Va. (Jan. 22, 2022) – With a chance late to take the match on all singles points, the Hokies fended off the Bucs en-route to a 6-1 victory in Blacksburg. Alejandra Morales (Santiago, Chile) won her singles match in the No. 2 spot 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 21, 2022) – Coming off a heartbreaker in Lexington last weekend, the Bucs flip the page and turn their attention to two ACC opponents: Virginia Tech and #8 NC State. ETSU will take on Virginia Tech Saturday morning, then make the trip to Raleigh to take on the Wolfpack.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 14, 2022) – Fighting and battling until the very end, the Bucs gave it their all despite falling to Kentucky in a doubleheader Friday. The Bucs fell 4-3 in both matches against the Wildcats.

SPARTANBURG, S.C (Dec. 31, 2021) -- As the Southern Conference wraps up its celebration of its first 100 years of history as 2021 comes to a close, the league has named its 100th anniversary teams. The Bucs totaled 82 selections on the conference list, which was announced on Thursday.

(Dec. 21, 2021) -- The Southern Conference named its All-Southern Conference Faculty and Staff Team on Monday, with two representatives each from all 10 member schools being recognized by the league. ETSU’s two representatives to earn the honor were Dr. Natalie Smith and Jeff Shell.

(Dec. 8, 2021) – After a successful fall slate, Fernanda Carvajal (Queretaro, Mexico) and Yunuen Elizarraras (Cuernavaca, Mexico) found themselves in the top-60 doubles rankings at the Division I level, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Wednesday. The Bucs duo sits at #44 in the country.
The East Tennessee State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced a new partnership with INFLCR (pronounced influencer) to provide ETSU student-athletes the best platform to assist them in their name, image and likeness (NIL) experience. Using tools provided by INFLCR, ETSU student-athletes will learn the processes of maximizing their NIL potential, while maintaining NCAA compliance.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Oct. 25th, 2021) – With a couple of upsets already in the bag, the ETSU women’s tennis team made a statement this past weekend on the campus of Middle Tennessee State at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals tournament. The pair of Fernanda Carvajal (Queretaro, Mexico) and Yuneun Elizarraras (Cuernavaca, Mexico) showed grit and execution to go past the #3 seed pair from Vanderbilt 8-6, but couldn’t keep their momentum against the eventual doubles champion from Indiana.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 20, 2021) – The ETSU women’s tennis program looks upon the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Murfreesboro, Tenn., after a busy fall slate of invitationals. The event will run from Oct. 20-25.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 10th, 2021) – With a field of top programs in the nation and three that made the NCAA tournament, ETSU’s women’s tennis team got a taste of top competition this past weekend in North Carolina, going 10-6 in singles play and 6-3 in doubles play in the hidden dual tournament. Laylo Bakhodirova (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) won both her singles matches and three doubles matches with Alejandra Morales (Santiago, Chile). Mayya Gorbunova (Moscow, Russia) won her two singles and doubles matches as well.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 7th, 2021) – The Bucs look to continue their fall dominance as they head to Charlotte for the 49er invite. This is the third and final invitational that the Bucs will compete in, as they have the ITA Regionals in a few weeks following. This will be the first time ETSU has visited the 49ers in fall competition.

MACON, Ga. (Oct. 3, 2021) – The ETSU Women’s Tennis team continued their fall slate in Macon at the Gridiron Classic, and finished the tournament with five singles victories and one doubles victory. Fernanda Carvajal (Queretaro, Mexico) got her second singles draw victory of the fall season after a great outing in Blacksburg a few weekends ago.

(Sept. 30, 2021) – A couple of weekends removed from junior Maria Carvajal (Queretaro, Mexico) winning her first singles competition of the academic year, the Bucs load up and head to Macon for the Gridiron Classic. The Bucs were in attendance last fall for the two-day event, winning eight of nine doubles matches against Mercer, Chattanooga, Troy, and Middle Tennessee State.

BLACKSBURG, Va. (Sept. 19, 2021) – The ETSU Women’s Tennis team ended their first fall invitational on a high note with Junior Maria Carvajal (Queretaro, Mexico) winning the Maroon draw in singles over the weekend. She defeated Penn State’s Karly Friedland 6-3, 6-3 en route to the victory.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2021) – After falling to Furman in the conference championship in the spring, the ETSU Women’s Tennis team is ready to start their fall slate of invitationals, starting at Virginia Tech. This is the first of three invitationals that the Bucs will participate in.

ABINGDON, Va. (Aug. 16, 2021) -- ETSU Athletics, Food City and WJHL News Channel 11 are partnering to host the BUCS for Kids fundraising campaign in support of Niswonger Children’s Hospital. The event will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday August 21, 2021 at Food City locations in Johnson City (S. Roan St., N State of Franklin Rd, and Boones Creek), Jonesborough, and Gray.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (July 15, 2021) – For the second consecutive day, the ETSU Athletic Department received recognition for its student-athletes, with the Southern Conference Honor Roll being announced on Thursday afternoon. The Bucs placed 249 student-athletes on the 2020-21 list, just shy of the program record 262 selections last year.
