NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 4, 2022) – Coming off a perfect weekend, the Bucs were halted by the Commodores in Nashville, dropping the match 5-2 Friday afternoon.
The Bucs made the doubles point tough to come by, but Vanderbilt swept all the doubles matches to take the crucial doubles point heading into singles play.
Alejandra Morales (Santiago, Chile) and Fernanda Carvajal (Queretaro, Mexico) snagged two singles wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots against #112 Anessa Lee and Yufei Long after Vanderbilt clinched the match. Morales’ win makes it four total ranked singles wins for the Bucs with Laylo Bakhodirova (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)taking the other three.
Morales and Carvajal have each won their last three singles matches against their respective opponents versus Middle Tennessee State and Belmont. Bakhodirova and Morales’ five-match winning streak was snapped in their doubles flight.
