BOONE, N.C. (Sept. 16, 2021) – In ETSU triathlon’s first cross-country event in program history, the squad went to the Firetower Project 5k hosted by Appalachian State Cross Country and finished seventh as a team. Other programs in attendance were Elon (who finished first as a team), College of Charleston, UNC-Asheville, Montreat College, UNC-Wilmington, USC-Upstate, Lees-McRae, and the host Mountaineers.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2021) – Following a team-podium finish in the first qualifier in the 2021 NCAA Triathlon schedule, the Bucs take on a cross-country race in Boone. The Firetower Project, coordinated by the Appalachian State Cross Country program, is the second cross country event the Mountaineers are hosting this fall.
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wisc. (Sept. 4, 2021) – The ETSU women’s triathlon team was prepared for the challenge of their first fall race since 2019, finishing third as a squad. Senior Lane McDonald (South Bend, Ind.) led the Bucs with a 1:05:36.4 time, good to finish 19th out of 43 racers.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 3, 2021) – After not being able to compete last fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ETSU women’s triathlon has their first fall race since November, 2019. The Pleasant Prairie National Qualifier is one of two qualifying races the Bucs will compete in, both of which organized by USA Triathlon.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug 18, 2021) -- The East Tennessee State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Wednesday the creation of the Blue and Gold Club. The Blue and Gold Club is an alumni network for all former ETSU student-athletes, spirit squad members, student managers and student training staff members.
ETSU Athletics partners with Food City and WJHL to hold ‘BUCS for Kids’ in Support of Niswonger Children’s Hospital
ABINGDON, Va. (Aug. 16, 2021) -- ETSU Athletics, Food City and WJHL News Channel 11 are partnering to host the BUCS for Kids fundraising campaign in support of Niswonger Children’s Hospital. The event will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday August 21, 2021 at Food City locations in Johnson City (S. Roan St., N State of Franklin Rd, and Boones Creek), Jonesborough, and Gray.
