SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Dec. 21, 2021) -- The Southern Conference named its All-Southern Conference Faculty and Staff Team on Monday, with two representatives each from all 10 member schools being recognized by the league. ETSU’s two representatives to earn the honor were Dr. Natalie Smith and Jeff Shell.
The East Tennessee State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced a new partnership with INFLCR (pronounced influencer) to provide ETSU student-athletes the best platform to assist them in their name, image and likeness (NIL) experience. Using tools provided by INFLCR, ETSU student-athletes will learn the processes of maximizing their NIL potential, while maintaining NCAA compliance.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 18, 2021) – Coming off a fifth-place finish at the Collegiate National Championship race in Tempe, Ariz., Izi Belogay (Sterling, Va.) and Sarah Plant (Chandler, Ariz.) were honored with post-race accolades. Belogay earned DI Second Team All-American honors, while Plant was a DI Honorable Mention. The awards were announced by the Collegiate Triathlon Coaching Association.
TEMPE, Ariz. (Nov. 13, 2021) – In just her fourth race at the Division I level, freshman Izi Belogay (Sterling, Va.) has continued to impress after a high school career in cross country and swimming. Belogay led the Bucs with a time of 1:07:14.4, good for an 11th overall finish in a field of 46.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2021) – It all comes down to this. Months of preparation and training led by head coach Allie Nicosia have the Bucs heading to Tempe, Ariz., for the 2021 National Championships.
HUDDLESTON, Va. (Oct. 16, 2021) – In the second qualifying race of the fall campaign, freshman Izi Belogay (Sterling, Va.) paced the Bucs in the return to her home state, finishing sixth overall out of a field of 93, and fourth among Division I schools. Belogay finished with a 1:03:28.0 thanks to the fourth-best run time at 20:23. The freshman’s performance helped ETSU garner a third-place team finish with 66 points.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2021) – The second major race of the fall season is upon the ETSU women’s triathlon team as they venture to Smith Mountain Lake Park in Huddleston, Va., for the Kinetic Cup Triathlon. The Bucs finished second among Division I schools at the event in 2019.
BOONE, N.C. (Sept. 16, 2021) – In ETSU triathlon’s first cross-country event in program history, the squad went to the Firetower Project 5k hosted by Appalachian State Cross Country and finished seventh as a team. Other programs in attendance were Elon (who finished first as a team), College of Charleston, UNC-Asheville, Montreat College, UNC-Wilmington, USC-Upstate, Lees-McRae, and the host Mountaineers.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2021) – Following a team-podium finish in the first qualifier in the 2021 NCAA Triathlon schedule, the Bucs take on a cross-country race in Boone. The Firetower Project, coordinated by the Appalachian State Cross Country program, is the second cross country event the Mountaineers are hosting this fall.
