Triathlon Completes Two-Day Clermont Challenge

CLERMONT, Fla. (March 8, 2020) — The ETSU Triathlon team kicked off their 2020 spring schedule with a two-day race in Clermont, Fla. In individual results, the Bucs had a total of four athletes in the top-25 over the course of the two days.  

On day one, Holle Guntz led ETSU’s contingent and placed 22nd overall with a final time of 1:07:18.67. The next three Bucs all finished within two minutes and 10 seconds of each other with Katelyn Elliott tacking the next-best time on day one with a 28th place finish.  Cameron Seeley and Carla Garcia Alcantarilla placed 35th and 39th respectively while Zoe Six rounded out the five athletes for the Bucs with a time of 1:17:41.9.

In day two’s race, three Bucs placed in the top-25 with Guntz leading way once again with a time of 1:08:20. Elliott
finished just a second behind her teammate to place 20th in the race. Seeley rounded out ETSU’s top-25 athletes placing 24th with a time of 1:09:58.4.

Triathlon will wrap up their 2020 schedule on April 12 in the Trideltathon in Knoxville.
