TROUTMAN, N.C. (Sept. 24, 2022) – The ETSU women’s triathlon team gears up for its first full meet of the season as the Buccaneers head to North Carolina for the 2022 Cal Tri Charlotte meet.

Name: Cal Tri Charlotte

Location: Lake Norman State Park

Time: 7:40 a.m.

Race Format: 750m swim, 16.4-mile bike and 5K run

Teams: ETSU, Greensboro College, King, Guilford, Newberry, Lenoir-Rhyne, Queens, Delaware State and Eastern Mennonite

Results: Second Wind Timing 

WHO’S COMPETING FOR THE BUCS?

ETSU is sending nine Buccaneers to compete in Sunday’s event. Below is a list of ETSU student-athletes competing: 

Taylor Bartlett, Lindsey Batkiewicz, Izi Belogay, Kayleigh Berg, Abby Church, Carla Garcia, Delaney Hammill, Gianna Norton, Meaghan O’Connor 

LAST TIME OUT

ETSU opened its season three weeks ago when they hosted the inaugural ETSU Aquathlon. 

Abby Church (Chantilly, Va.) and Izi Belogay (Sterling, Va.) posted top-10 finishes at the Bucs’ home event. 

Church led the Blue and Gold as she placed eighth with a time of 18:36, while Belogay placed 10th in 18:46. 

The race featured a 500-yard swim and two-mile run. 

UP NEXT

Following Sunday’s meet, ETSU heads to Virginia for the East Regional Qualifier, which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15.
