HUDDLESTON, Va. (Sept. 21, 2022) – The ETSU women’s triathlon program finished in second place in the East Regional Qualifier with an overall score of 296 points on Saturday at Smith Mountain Lake State Park in Virginia.
Sophomore Abby Church (Chantilly, Va.) led the Bucs with a time of 1:01:32, good enough to finish seventh out of 28 racers.
Sarah Plant (Chandler, Ariz.) also cracked the top 10 with a time of 1:02:55. Just behind Plant in 11th place was teammate Izi Belogay (Sterling, Va.), competing in her home state and finishing with a time of 1:03:22.
Queens University of Charlotte took the team competition with a score of 370. Natalia Hidalgo of Queens finished atop the individual leaderboard with a time of 1:00:23.
