Buccaneer triathlete posts top-three finish among amateurs

CLERMONT, Fla. (March 5, 2023) – ETSU sophomore Sarah Plant (Chandler, Ariz.) earned her USAT Elite License on Saturday at the Clermont Draft Legal Challenge, as she was one of the top-three amateurs to finish in the National Triathlon Development Race.

Plant, who finished 12th overall, recorded a time of 1:04:07.9 in the event, featuring a 750m swim, 20K bike and 5K run.The Buccaneer triathlete started with a time of 10:49 in the swim and registered a mark of 20:34 in the bike. Plant then finished the race with a 5K run where she clocked in at 20:34.

Saturday’s field consisted of 60 athletes who finished the race.
